Bill
and Mark Cameron?s interest in building things started when they
were young brothers growing up in San Lorenzo, California. On a
regular basis Bill and Mark would go to the flea market where
they would buy bikes and bike parts. Their mother would show up
with the old station wagon and haul what they bought home. In
the garage of their parents? home they set up a small shop where
they would take apart, fix, paint and reassemble bicycles. They
were well known in the neighborhood by all the kids who needed
work done on their bikes.
Bill and Mark?s interest in
rebuilding things with wheels continued into their teens. During
their high school days at Arroyo High School they both had
several cars they worked on, which lead to expanding their
natural mechanical abilities. Mark still has a 1950 GMC truck he
acquired during those years.
After high school Bill attended
Alameda College and completed a two-year course in Auto Body and
Paint. At
24 he
bought his first hot rod, a 48 Chevy, 2 door coupe and has been
totally hooked on working on cars ever since.
Mark has been the owner of his
own business, ?Floor Concepts? for 21 years, where he installs
all types of flooring. But when he is not working at his
business, he continues to acquire and rebuild classic cars.

It is this interest in cars
that really was key to establishing BMC Steel, the home of
?Howdy?s Facilities?. While attending many car shows, Bill and
Mark saw the Howdy Facilities on display and met the owner
?Howdy?. Howdy is a ?classic car? junky and a master upholsterer
specializing in classic cars. In 2006 Mark brought his 1949 Ford
custom car to Howdy to reupholster and learned that Howdy was
considering selling the ?Howdy?s Facilities? business.
Mark
and Bill?s interest in the concept of the Howdy Facilities, as
well as their experience and skills building and restoring cars,
made them confident that Howdy Facilities was a product that
they could get behind, as well as expand upon. So after careful
consideration, they decided to purchase ?Howdy Facilities? and
make it part of their parent company BMC Steel.
With the support of their families - Bill?s wife and two
children and Mark?s son - Bill and Mark have already started
expanding the Howdy Facilities by designing new themed
facilities to reach a wider range of customer?s interests.
